ABOUT SKINNER PAINTING

Skinner Painting is a Calgary-based paint and plaster studio led by Brendan Skinner.

OUR HISTORY

Brendan built his career in residential painting in Calgary, with a focus on preparation, detail, and clean execution. Over time, his work moved toward decorative plaster and mineral finishes, drawn to materials that bring more depth, movement, and a natural presence to a space.

He trained hands-on with plaster specialists at Polished Stucco in Vancouver and continues to build on that foundation through ongoing study, time in his home studio, and a steady interest in Venetian plaster techniques. Earlier on, he also studied fine art and design in London, which still informs how he approaches colour and texture.

Brendan remains closely involved in each project. Most of the work is completed by him, with trusted collaborators brought in when needed. Surfaces are assessed carefully, preparation is never rushed, and materials are chosen based on the space, the light, and how the room is used day to day.

Skinner Painting works throughout Calgary, continuing to serve long-time painting clients while expanding into plaster and mineral finishes. The focus is on thoughtful work that feels natural in the space and holds up over time.

WARRANTY

Skinner Painting provides a 10-year workmanship warranty on all services. This warranty reflects a commitment to careful preparation, sound judgement, and materials applied correctly from the start.

Workmanship refers to the quality of surface preparation and application performed by Skinner Painting. When materials are installed under appropriate conditions and used as intended, finishes are expected to perform and age well over time.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, structural movement, moisture intrusion, substrate failure, or issues resulting from changes to the building, improper maintenance, or conditions beyond the installer’s control. Manufacturer warranties on specific products remain subject to their own terms and limitations.

Each project is assessed individually, and recommendations are made based on the condition of the surfaces, environment, and intended use of the space. Standing behind the work means being honest about what is suitable, what will last, and what can reasonably be guaranteed.
