ABOUT SKINNER PAINTING
Skinner Painting is a Calgary-based painting and plaster studio specializing in interior painting, exterior painting, and custom wall finishes. The work is grounded in careful preparation, material knowledge, and an understanding that quality finishes are as much about durability and comfort as they are about appearance.
Brendan’s desire to learn more about Venetian plaster brought him to Vancouver where he trained, hands-on, with established plaster specialists, Polished Stucco. He has continued with ongoing learning in traditional and contemporary plaster systems. This continued study supports the use of lime-based plasters, mineral finishes, and proven application methods chosen to suit each space.
Every project is approached individually. Surfaces are assessed thoroughly, preparation is never rushed, and materials are selected based on the home, lighting conditions, and intended use of the space. Services include interior and exterior painting, hand-finished trim and doors, limewash, Venetian plaster, Marrakech Walls, colour drenching, fine-finish spraying where appropriate, and drywall repairs as part of proper surface preparation.
Skinner Painting works primarily in Calgary neighbourhoods, providing thoughtful paint and plaster finishes for both new and older homes. The focus is on well-executed work that feels natural in the space and performs well over time.
WARRANTY
Skinner Painting provides a 10-year workmanship warranty on all services. This warranty reflects a commitment to careful preparation, sound judgement, and materials applied correctly from the start.
Workmanship refers to the quality of surface preparation and application performed by Skinner Painting. When materials are installed under appropriate conditions and used as intended, finishes are expected to perform and age well over time.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, structural movement, moisture intrusion, substrate failure, or issues resulting from changes to the building, improper maintenance, or conditions beyond the installer’s control. Manufacturer warranties on specific products remain subject to their own terms and limitations.
Each project is assessed individually, and recommendations are made based on the condition of the surfaces, environment, and intended use of the space. Standing behind the work means being honest about what is suitable, what will last, and what can reasonably be guaranteed.
